The adventure begins!

We traveled to Vernal through some pretty major rainstorms but arrived safely. This evening we went to the Vernal temple. It is a lovely old building - a tabernacle built in 1907 and converted to a temple in 1997. It has a beautiful simple pioneer feel to it. I especially loved the many paintings that told stories from the life of Christ, and some from the gorgeous landscapes of the area. They were different than I have seen before. The celestial room has a huge painting of Christ’s second coming. The endowment room has beautiful murals of Israel - the lake of Galilee, Gethsemane, the garden tomb. I recognized them all from our trip there. It has been a perfect beginning to our trip and mission. I feel so blessed to be called to serve this mission. I love the temple, I love the inspiring history of the restoration, I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It fills my life with joy.
